San Francisco was the nearest city of any size when I returned from Oregon to live in northern California. Still, it was a long way away and I didn't visit often.

I suppose it was much closer when I was a little kid ... my father was stationed at the Presidio before WW2.

Hey, my dad was also stationed in SF! He said he'd never been as cold as the time he spent at that base. He grew up in eastern Idaho went on to duty in the Aleutians, so that's saying something about the damp air there!

I can actually recognize some of the streets!

Nyboy, I agree, it is a beautiful city. We never get tired of the view as we cross the bay bridge.

If I run to the beach or walk along it, we can see the city.

Oh, yes!

There's the coop and chandelier!

I should have expected you would have the candles lit on such a night, Mary. Entertaining?
