Finally got around to making pretzels. I checked the recipe book, it's more like 1/4 c. baking soda per quart of water.

OMG good! I may run out of mustard!

Just a thought: Instead of spraying the sides of the oven, could you wipe them with a damp towel, avoiding your light bulb? This sounded so much like when I was canning once and my jars weren't hot enough. I heard them breaking--AARRRGGGHHH!!!
Also, how about using a couple of aluminum bread pans (disposable type) and put the water into them to bathe the bread?

I GOTTA avoid these food threads!!!!!!! My Diet has JUST started to work!!!!!
