I went on a berry picking vacation in Bayfield, WI this last week-end.
My mom and I try to go to Bayfield every year on our annual mom/daughter trip.

We had to check out the community garden. And "procure" a few seed pods from a double red hollyhock.

We went to the farmer's market and picked up a few things for dinner. They have a very nice farmer's market! We even bought 2 grape plants to take home.

Next we went to pick gooseberries and currants. It rained on us!

Then we went to pick blueberries.
Lots and lots of blueberries. They were the BIG king berries!

A famous Bayfield wine bread and coconut clusters from The Candy Shop. There isn't any wine in the bread at all!

Before we left, we stopped and picked raspberries at the Bayfield Apple Company. And bought a jar of currant jelly - picking currants is hard work! And the jelly is worth every penny!

I think it is a Finish sweet bread? It is soft sweet bread with a thick creamy filling and then drizzled frosting over the top. - I swear they stick something illegal in them though - they are soooo addictive!
They have about 20 different flavors, but the almond is the best. No need to gild the lily!
You can watch them make all their sweet treats. They make their own waffle cones and ice cream, pie, sweet rolls, ect.
We usually order our wine bread the day before and then pick it up, because they sell out of everything as soon as it is set out. They don't even have a case to hold the breads - they go from the oven to someone's home!

The smoked fish is Lake Superior white fish - another local favorite.
And the eggs are from my girls!

Then there is summer squash, garlic scapes, onion, tomato and the mushroom (that we found).

The bread was from the farmer's market too! It is a vegan country loaf.

What a great time you had with your mom. You are so lucky, my mom would never enjoy doing that stuff.
Those berries were huge, I picked 20lbs of blueberries the other day and I have been canning them all week.
That community garden looked like a great place to roam around.
Glad you had fun.
