Secuono, what kind of hay is available in your area? The only time we paid $85 for a round bale, was in 2011 when Texas was stricken with a terrible drought. We bought hay from a Guy trucking it from Oklahoma. Regular price in southeast Texas for 1000 to 1200 pound round bale is about $50.

Now, since moving to northeast Texas, we are blessed beyond belief. Right around the corner from us, about a mile, is a family that cuts hay! And prices big round bales at $35! The bales are Bermuda and bahia grass.

Found some for less, but we have to pick them up one at a time on Monday...I'll be so dead feeling after rolling 10+ of them! :(

Hay is very much higher here. Round bales are $85 -$150ish. They are various types, from orchard grass to timothy to alfalfa and different mixes.
Small bales, 2 string, about 85 pounds are from $8 - $12 depending on what they are. Cheaper by the multiple ton and picked up in the field.

Beautiful sky, great photo! I knew those were your boys, but I had to tease you for the pink wool. Chubby looking guys from this angle. I don't think I've ever seen so much moon at one time.
