I built one recently too. Learning about Hugelkulters and permaculture in general has totally changed my way of gardening. I have a whole side yard dedicated to my permaculture experiment.

(I don't throw away cardboard or paper bags either. )

I'm about to build another one on top of a large tree stump. Easier than removing it, right?
