I know someone on here mentioned that they keep their garlic cloves for long periods in oil. Was it you, hoodat? Exactly how is this done? Do you need to refrigerate it? How long would they last? Thanks!
I keep garlic cloves and sun dried tomatoes stored in olive oil. Mainly for the yummy tasting oil I get out of keeping them that way. But the garlic and tomatoes are good when I need them too.
Just had some tonight mixed in with a salad and tuna fish lemon and pepper dressing made from the oil out of my sun dried tomatoes. YUMMY!!!!
I keep a bottle of oil with garlic in it but it's more to flavor the oil than preserve the garlic. I find that olive oil goes "off" too easily so after the garlic flavor has been absorbed I keep it in the refrigerator. It gets cloudy but it keeps better.
