Hi all
I used to be on byc and so glad to see this site now that I'm back!
I have a question about planting peach trees? I bought two of them -- a Flavorctest and a Redskin. I noticed the redskin says "self-fruitful" but the flavorctest has no info tag and it got me to thinking -- do I need to plant them close together or far apart? Or does it matter? Do I need a 2nd flavorctest?
Please help! I want to get them in the ground asap -- I'd like to save the fruit they have already set. But all I know about fruit trees is we used to have one. I'm a bit southeast of Dallas TX btw. Any other special considerations besides making sure they enough space and sun, drainage and water? I plan to top-dress with compost later and water with compost tea. Some parts of the property receive water from an automatic aerobic septic system.
Thanks!!!

I'm So glad, because we had pretty much our last frost last night, at 34 degees F, and we went 3 solid weeks with lows in the 40's. A few years back I lost ALL of my peaches when the blossoms fell off after a freeze. BTW, I understand that peaches like it dry.
