Pickle Power

This is what my mom did today, as you might be able to imagine she wasn't too happy. Thirty quarts of pickles and still more to pick. Both dill pickles (top pic, left) and bread and butter pickles (top pic, right) were made. The sunflowers are from the garden too.

Before the cucumbers were pickled...

(This is a big sink, largest cucumbers there were more than a foot long.)

That's a lot of pickles! Tell your mom they're beautiful and she's an inspiration.

Or you can tell her she's beautiful and the pickles are an inspiration. (If I were your mom I'd vote for #2)

Yesterday was pickle day at my house....

And there is a giant bowl of cooked pickles in the fridge still to can (I ran out of jars)
