I tried a pickled okra recipie that I found on the internet last year that was very good, but when we opened the jars to eat them, the juice was like a syrup and of course the okra was slimey, but good. The jars were all sealed tight, and the recipie called for a water bath for 15 minutes, any idea as to what made them be slimey and the juice syrup?
