We've had such beautiful weather - I worked some in the garden and then just sat and enjoyed!

Wow, you still have a lot going on. I like your giraffe sculpture! What is that bush with the red flowers in the last pic? I love how the reds really pop. I've got cypress vine that volunteers every year from seed and it has really become one of my favorites....really deep, true red w/ elegant dark green fern-like foliage. Spruces up the ol' chainlink fence quite a bit.

Just beautiful Joan. What's the red bloom on the fence?

What Lesa said, my flower beds are shriveled brown lumps that need to be cut down. Fall cleanup is not very interesting :/ .

Thanks all! I had such a great day relaxing and playing in the garden.

journey - that is Salvia elegans - Pineapple Sage - and I love it!

the red flowers on the fence is Mandevilla - it's in a pot so I'll move it to the greenhouse when the weather gets cold.

our "scarecrow" is Penelope - I saw a cute one on Pintrest and designed my own. Isn't she fabulous? :p

i wish I had the words to describe how the mist is over the lake, like an upside down bowl over it, so that, between the lake and my garden it clears as a diffuse and a discrete bordering, from here the sun still below the horizon past it...
