I know its not really a gardening recipe - unless you spread it with homemade preserves or pie filling as some people do. I got the recipe from my mother and grandmother so decided to pass it on. Enjoy.

I made Placinta / Elephant Ears / fried dough - what ever you call it - I made it, we ate it.

It may not be a gardening recipe Jojo, but you could eat it in the garden! :)
My mom made these every time we had potato soup, and her mom made them (and my great grandma ...etc ). I make them too, and now my sons think potato soup is just not worth eating without "fry bread". Must be one of those family heritage type foods.
I just use a bread dough recipe, so mine aren't sweet.
 
When I first read the title of this post, I thought it said

"Placenta- fried dough"

So, my mind was going a bit crazy, thinking somebody was wrapping a placenta in dough and frying it!!
 
Sounds a lot like the fry bread the Choctaws make. I have a hard time keeping from pigging out on it.

It is Romanian and pronounced Pla - shin - tea (or something like that)
