I read that pothos is Americas #1 house plant.
I have some in pots the leaves get about 3" long.

But in my garden they are growing as a ground cover.
The leaves still stay about 3 or 4 inches long.
Now they cling on to trees and walls were the leaves tend to get larger as the vine climbs.

This is a picture of them growing up my grapefruit tree.

Some of the leaves are close to two foot long.

That is so cool!! I have seen similar when viewing Botanical Gardens in Florida. Life is a lot different in a tropical climate- I have them as house plants- not nearly as dramatic!! Enjoy your warm temps! Whenever I visit Florida, I spend the entire time saying "oh my gosh, I grow that as a house plant!"

It's funny people ask me what it is all the time. I tell them and they say "no way". They go on about they have a pot full of it and it is a mile long.

I find you can't make it grow up the tree. It grows to the tree then works its way up.

We had a few hard freezes last winter and was hard on it. It was twice as high last year at this time.

It will grow up the plywood! Just make a bunch of cuttings out of a gangley plant. plant a bunch a few inches from the side. Some will grow away and others will grow to the wall. Takes a little time but some will set hold to the siding. Once they start upward they send aerial roots back down. When they hit the ground things seem to speed up and the larger leaves start to show up. Seems like at about 4' it takes on a new look.

i doubt mine will get that big here. i live in south georgia. so it will get killed back some from time to time. but my grandmother used to have those growing all over her house (inside) and she had some on her porch that escaped and lived outside for years. it grew her trellis underpinning. also heartleaf philodendron will do the same if you let it. arrowhead plants will too but they are pretty invasive. and dont even get me started on airplane plants LOL!

I have some of the fore mentioned plants, I love them all.

If you are growing up a wall maybe you could make for some kind of mini hot house. A small lean-to covered when needed.

It is hard to comment on most threads for me as I am in such a semi- tropical climate. Most folks seem to be from the colder zones.

I can hear the tree frogs now!

I bet you get lots of bats too!

How Pretty! All my pothos has to stay indoors.
