Prince's Plume?

This is an amaranth, right?

It is growing in front of some dahlias but I didn't plant it. It's in the neighbor's yard but I've been over there for about 5 years and never noticed him having anything like it.

It isn't pigweed although we have 2 species of that here. I'm inclined to leave it but what is it?

I think that I will have to take it out!

It's a little outside the bed but it is beginning to crowd the dahlias. The thing is a growing monster! The bloom doesn't look like it will be very large.

The foliage is kinda pretty ...
