I know exactly what you mean SL! But somehow the dreaming and planning can lead to other creative solutions that may not be as grand, but functional anyway.A sauna connected to a greenhouse/ garden shed...I like that!

One thing that has been on my construction bucket list is a new greenhouse. A long time ago our old rickety greenhouse bit the dust in a tornado. I have a place picked out and one of these days I'll get out there and draw up the plans for it. The new one will be much smaller than the old one was because I plan to build it against our wood shed. The south facing wall is 14 ft. wide so the new GH floor plan will be 14' x 8'. I'm anxious to get started and I dearly love to do these kinds of projects but somehow life always gets in the way on this one.
Another thing on the list is to pump out the water in our old, no longer used, cistern and turn it into a cold storage room or root cellar. It would be so nice to have a room that stays 55F all year 'round for all the canning jars, dry goods, potatoes, prepping supplies, etc. and it's perfect for that purpose but the walls seep and I will have to put in a "French drain" around the perimeter and a sump to get rid of the seepage. I really do not want a sump pump down there because I'm trying to make our little farm as self sufficient as possible and an electric pump runs counter to that goal. In a prolonged power failure my underground room will get pretty wet unless I rig up an alt. power supply or use a hand pump when the sump fills. I've considered solar with PV collector, batteries, and inverter but there is now way THAT fits our budget.

I don't do ladders...I've always been afraid of heights. Age might not be as limiting for some, as long as a person knows their own limits. My 80-year-old neighbor went 25 feet up a ladder in a windstorm to nail down the corner of my tin roof a couple years ago. I just looked outside and there he was...didn't tell me he was going up there, just helping out and being neighborly! (DH was not home at the time.) He's always on top of his roof or climbing up something to work on. Country folk just get 'er done. 
Sounds like some great projects you've got lined up, Red. Be sure to show us pics as they come along. I have a bucket list too, but I've had to make my peace with it since money is tight and the kiddos keep me busy. Certainly those things become more feasible and more enjoyable later in life. I can bide my time, but it doesn't hurt to dream.
