Would you use a bright pink tool in public, where every body can see? Something like mowing front lawn with pink mower. A lot of my tools grow legs and walk away never to be seen again. Thinking paint can help with this.

Think again. May stop you from losing clothes, not tools.

Many contractors spray their tools with bright colors ( red, orange, lime green, etc. ) and they still grow legs and walk away to be repainted to hide the evidence. :th neighbors borrow marked tools and then " forget " to return them . :he

From personal experience I can testify that pink tools are as hard to find in their toolbox as any other color. I once bought a pink tool set with case. I used it at school for many years then brought it home when I retired. Spouse complained that the hammer wasn't big enough every time he used it, but it was the first tool case I could find so it was the one he used.

I still have the case. Also have the hammer. All the other parts are gone somewhere and haven't been seen in over a decade. Oh, I might have seen the tape measure somewhere since the last decade, but I'm not sure where.

We used to have a furniture store and carried mattress sets. One bed we had in three colors, pink, blue and a black floral. Same identical bed. People would lay on them and declare a color to be the most comfortable and buy it. Men never wanted the pink one. I tried explaining that the 3 colors were in fact, one and the same mattress, but most people just didn't get it. I finally gave up and priced the black one $100 higher and suddenly it became the best seller. Go figure.

A person is intelligent. People are stupid.

Nyboy, the color of your tools won't keep them from leaving. Pink, blue or purple, it won't matter.

I would mark the calendar on the day someone took a tool. Ask them to return it as soon as they're done. If not, I'd start calling them to return it. haha

Borrowing things and not returning them is one of my pet peeves. If you borrowed something, why should I be the one to waste my time and energy getting it back?

We had a writer. If I am not mistaken, Giljarovsky. People often took the book from him and not returned. Then he wrote on each book, "Stolen from Giljarovsky". The problem disappeared. You can write it on your things paint of any color. :D

I spotted my pink hammer this morning when looking for pliers. It was sitting smack dab in the middle of son's work table surrounded by other tools. Photo to follow if I can.
