For those of you not living in a place that gets 10 to 12 inches of rain a year, if we are lucky! You may not find this as exciting as I do!!
Here was the rainfall for a two day storm!

Wonderful! I bet the air smells fantastic.

During our monsoon season in the summer that wet air coming across the desert smells really nice. In the winter you don't notice the air smelling different. Maybe a "cleaner" smell. This morning, it made me homesick for Los Angeles! The sky was all grey!

I think the seahawks brought in all the rain. I live in the outskirts of phoenix and we got that storm too! No need to water the garden. Yesterday we woke up and the fog was down to the ground! Couldn't even see the mountains that were 300 yd. away. Did you get fog too? @rebbitzin

All our precipitation these days comes as the white stuff. We ended up with 8-10 inches of fluffy, blowing snow. Sunday was nearly as quiet as New York the day it was shut down, but after a late start for school this morning, everything is well plowed and in good winter driving conditions from here to town.

DH was out shoveling the whole driveway three times Sunday and once today. I still haven't found a good way to get out to the chickens. Fortunately they were fed Sunday morning before the worst of the snowing and blowing. I've already found that I can't get outside using the three southern doors -- drifted too high. I haven't investigated trying to go around the house, yet.

Where did I leave those snowshoes?

We got a few more inches than you. Shut down school for today. (A day already scheduled off for a Teacher's conference comp day.) Most roads in the area are still 100% snow packed. (Blowing winds.) thank goodness those have slacked and sun is out. BUT COLD and will be for the next 5 days or so. Ahhh winter in IA! :p

Yes, the worst of the storm was supposed to go South. We were predicted to get only 3-5 here, but the storm veered a bit further North than expected. Still, you got hit harder than we did.
