I think we know! The tank rolled across North Africa, then into Europe, the tanks rolled together and the mechanics kept them rolling!

My father - in -law was in the US Navy during WW2 as a mechanic. Then Gen. Patten heard of his skills and requested him to be his personal mechanic / driver. He drove the General through N Africa ( while driving in the desert of N Africa, a incoming propelled grenade hit the Jeep in the engine , he hiked about a mile where he found a bombed out German half track , canabalized some parts then installed them onto the Jeep and away they went ), Cicily, and into Italy.

Thank you. He died several years ago from exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam. Ghastly way to die.

so lucky said, No, life is not fair. But, you know, our war heros who killed lots of enemies probably cause the same sorrowful reaction on the other side. War is just a sad business. I don't know how we can call ourselves civilized when the "powers that be" still allow war.
