Sunflowers sunning

If it won't be until next year, since they were just seeded, should I bother with trimming?

Was telling DH about this stray corn. I was amazed the cows hadn't eaten it yet.
Jinxed myself.
They ate it over night.
Fenced it off now, though.

Oh, the cauliflowers are still growing. I went nuts with the slug pellets, nature cooperated(no endless rain), and now they're growing a few new leaves. They have shade up full time, too. Heads are growing on them. Been carefully covering heads with broken off old leaves, as there's not enough leaves to actually cover them any other way. Been checking to make sure they don't suddenly flower, or they'll be harvested right away!
🤞🤞🤞
I'll have to have them in a separate spot next year and a permanent little set up for shade for them, too. They're all in shade until about high noon. Level spot was more important than sunny. But also, sun/earth moves, so early spring had more sun than now. Will study the shade interactive map website for best location next year.
Corn has to move or a little berm added bc all of that rain runoff removed compost from them.

Gross bug poo...Gotta net them next time.

And junebugs have found the strawberries, which still refuse to put out berries! 🤬 Ad to net them to stop damage.

Yesterday's are frozen and moved to bigger containers.
New ones washed and laid out thin to freeze.

Once frozen, they sound and look like those 90s altoid candies... 🤤

Last day to pick them. Rest will be left alone.

I wish the reds tasted like red cherry candies...

Well...I killed lots of plants by topping with rabbit manure. Idk wtf, but that's the only difference. 😭🤦🏽‍♀️

I figured out exactly how.
Even though the plants will root from vines, drowned in wet poo is not the answer to make new roots grow....🤦🏽‍♀️
I was worried the poo burned them, nope, just over saturated and rotted....

I can't find my sunflower seed packet, will have to order online and try again....

Noticed brown stings in the corn. Then realized that many were ready to harvest or nibbled on! 🌽
About 66 of them in the fridge. More on the stalks or still going to be.

They don't grow more, correct? So I'll start cutting stalks to feed the critters.

And Google says they last 3 days in fridge to eat fresh. Gotta blanch most of them to freeze for storage tomorrow!

Tons of cukes and tomatoes for the chickens daily. 2/3 of these are new! Lol. DH can't keep up with eating them all.
More peppers ready to pick. 😵‍💫
Do chickens eat pepper? They don't eat cukes unless I only feed cukes, then pellets for dinner. Tomatoes are a fave.
