Today I helped my daughter out with a 505 sailing regatta! I got to hold signs and call out the boat numbers as they crossed the finish line! We ate gourmet sandwiches and lots of snacks and that made it even more fun!

Im sure that was time well spent. Our grandson is learning his way in the Coxswain’s world and seems to be enjoying it. Im not exactly sure about where they row; they live in Silverdale.

What great fun!

Many decades ago on vacation in St Martin, a regatta passed right by our hotel and we watched from our balcony. I still have a couple photos on my wall that my sister took of the multi-colored boats sailing by.

Was your daughter a competitor or just helpful ground crew?

Yesterday she was crew on the committee boat for the first time, but she usually races. She races 505s and also crews for the big sailboat races!
