Salal Pancakes!

This morning I cooked up some salal pancakes, using the berries we just picked. Oh yummy! We put powdered sugar on top with a splash of spiced rum!

Yes they do when they are cooked in pancakes! When I make jam out of them they taste like blackberry jam. When you eat them fresh they taste like a cross between blueberries and applesauce! Go figure!

This sounds like a very versatile fruit, I will have to look into it.
