SEED CATALOGs

Old seed catalogs are fantastic for little children. They love to cut out the pictures and glue them to construction paper.

Hot diggety, dog ziggity; my first 2016 seed catalog arrived in today's mail (07NOV15)...
It is from Pinetree Garden Seeds of New Gloucester, ME...
I've order seed from these folks before and I like them a lot....
Is it too early to begin perusing seed catalogs and planning next year's garden???....
Naaaawwwww, where's my coffee mug, note pad, and recliner??
See ya! Sam

That's my chosen seed source...cheap, good, great varieties available, no overly glossy pics to distract one, etc. I'm pretty disappointed I haven't gotten MY Pinetree catalog yet! :( I order online but I like the catalog for planning, dreaming and casual drooling over seed varieties.

Pinetree catalog was waiting for me in the post box the day ya'll started reporting its appearance. We don't get to the Post Office every day so I was surprised that I found mine so timely.

wow even stokes is getting their catalog out early, usually don't see it till mid december...

quick edit...just read my snail mail, the nc dot has send me a letter wanting to know when i am going to renew my medical card, that's not due till january 10th  or i could lose my cdl.
well how did they know it was january 10th in the first place... hum maybe thats the date i always renew my medical card and send a copy to them.....

I am still sitting here with the one catalog. I know I'll be inundated with them by the time I am through the holidays and ready to get down to seed and plant considerat'n.

I just requested a Pinetree Garden catalog and Horticultural Products Supply catalog. I don't think I have heard of them. I have Baker Creek, Seeds n Such and Park Seed so far. I like ordering on line, but I like to take the catalogs in by the fire and sit in the comfortable chair to make plans and decide what I am going to order.

In one way, GWR, you have Pinetree and HPS at opposite ends of a spectrum. They both offer broad choices and good price but HPS has large packets and Pinetree very small.

Seeds n Such is an odd one. It just showed up last year. Once again, the letter from the owner talks about his time running HPS and Totally Tomatoes. The varieties seem to be the same as what is in those catalogs today!

I'm confused! He says "owner" but where does Jungs Seed fit in. They are the owners of those catalogs, today. Does Seeds n Such own a share of Jungs? vice versa?

Steve
