I searched the forum and found some great posts about tomato seeds. If I ever get any tomatoes, I'm going to try the fermentation method described.

Since I've also swapped seeds with others last winter, but only with my store bought seeds, I now realize I don't know how to save some of my own.

Case in point: I let two spinach plants bolt. When do they have seeds that I can harvest? How do I do this? I can also let one of my kale bolt in late fall, and want to harvest some of them too.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

My spinach is going to seed right now too. So...I have not saved spinach seed before, but my plan was to do what I've done with other stuff, wait until the seed heads look nice and dry and DONE. Like, brown. And cut them off and store them in a paper bag. Anyone else out there who has further advice for us?!
