I have some self watering window boxes in front of my house and I need suggestions for shade plants to put in them.

They are usually planted by now, but I can't get motivated to plant them!

Last year I did begonias in them and it looked very nice, but I want to try something else.

Suggestions?

Impatiens is certainly the most common shade annual.

If the shade is not too deep and dark, and you will water the boxes faithfully and thoroughly, lobelia is really nice (I especially like Crystal Palace).

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

Red Impatiens, blue Lobela and the white would make a very nice 4th of July type planter and Flag day is coming up too. I have done a couple of baskets that color sceme .
