I am a lazy-daisy about upkeep on some of my tools. YES, I change the oil in my mowers. YES, I check my bolts on my wheelbarrows and keep the tires inflated. YES, I use gasoline additive, Stabil.
Yes, I even own wire brush to put on my power drill to sharpen with.
But, NO, I haven't ever sharpened any of my cutting tools.
Anybody here have any advice and a time table throughout the year?

i only use a file or a coarse sharpening stone to take the burrs off if i've dinged up the shovel. the hoes and four prong rake haven't needed anything since i got them. the pruning sheers/cutters i've cleaned up a few times with oil and tried to help out on the edge but the result was less than satisfactory so i've not touched them up again since until i look into it more.

the lawn mower blades get replaced every few years when i notice it shredding more than cutting - it being a mulching mower i don't really mind some shredding...
