Chickie'sMomaInNH, so sorry I missed you and missed getting back to you! I only work in Rochester, and hadn't had a chance to get on the Internet over the past couple of days. I hope you had success at the Festival! I would love to swing over and take a look at your varieties some time. Maybe on my lunch break or something.

I have some little Hostas (don't know the name), but they are small and have small leafs. I bent down to weed near them last night and oh my, the flowers smelled so good. It was a nice surpirse!

I agree-both Jared and Chris-wonderful Hosta's! The purple plant is a coral bell-Thank you Stubbornhillfarm for the ID on that plant.

most of my hosta are in the front yard since the deer would have a wonderful snack if they were in the backyard. and my front yard has all the partial to full shade most of the plants need. i have 8 new additions i need to get in the ground in the next couple of days. and i think 7, maybe 8 more that i should be getting any day now!

if you are looking for a decent place to order some new varieties try checking www.hostaliners.com the same guy owns Bentleygardens.com, but the first one he does a flat rate shipping. he also advertises on ebay some of his liners starting at .99 cents! these are liners so they will be smaller than the full grown plant, but the roots are very sturdy and healthy and they grow quickly to a decent size depending on the variety!

And renovationmom, you are quite welcome on the ID of coral bells. I have them next to some of my hosta too. They are just a striking contrast. Someday when my husbands bulldozer is out of the front yard, I will take some pictures.

yeah, while you're on your way over could you bring that bulldozer? i have a 10x10x4 deep pond i've been wanting to get put in the back yard! i have the fish, the liner, and tons of pond plants that just need their pond built!!!

i was going to snap pics of my hosta this past weekend but then my dh told me he went to use it and it was doing some funky stuff when he put fully charged batteries into it. not sure if the rechargeable batteries are loosing their power and need replacing or if it is the camera.

yeah! i finally got pics of some of the hosta i have here! i realized i missed at least 10 different varieties so this is not my complete collection of hosta plants. many are very small since they are new additions to my garden and still haven't full filled in their area. but, they are working on it!!!

some of these may look a little tattered. my DH tends to get too close with the riding mower and kicks up sticks and acorns from the huge oak trees in the yard.
Sun Power with a tiny hosta hiding beside it in the mint that i can't remember it's name off the top of my head.

not sure the name of these ones either but they all seem to grow quickly!

the smallest hosta i have so far! the Frosted Mouse Ears! the acorn cap near it is about the size of a quarter btw.

my largest so far! Sum & Substance. i just got Parahelion and i have Empress Wu but they are still young and should get to the same size as this one! btw, these leaves and get to be the size of car hubcaps!

i think these two are really neat! their white/cream stripes change as the summer continues. they start the season with just a faint streak or white and as the season ages them the streak becomes a band! this is Hanky Panky

Hush Puppy is a small one but it looks like it will fill in quickly. the guy i bought it from sent about 4 well rooted pieces!
