A compost toilet is the coolest invention ever! No plumbing needed! The waste composts below the toilet in a compartment. They swear there is no odor. Still not recommended for food crops, but great for those with no plumbing (off grid, etc.) They are pricey, but interesting...

Well I saw some lights I wonder if he uses wind or solar power. Here in Ohio we would most diffently have to go with wind. We have lots of wind and lots of cloudy days. Does he use refrigeration?
My husband grandmother used to have a cave type room that they keep pop, beer, veggies etc. It was carved out of the rock inthe hillside just behind their house. It was awesome really and very effective in the winter and summer.
