Please, don't allow these Meeses to show up in my Garden !!

You can't be held completely accountable if that happens, ThistleBloom, but I really didn't enjoy rolling out the Un-Welcome mat for the marmots. A thousand pound vegetarian is the last thing I want to see in the parsnips and the peas!

Enjoying wildlife is one thing. Having them in your back yard or garden is something else.

Is it really up that high in snow?

No, Nifty, she's actually laying down and resting, although '08-'09 the snow got deep enough to bury a large moose,( if you were so inclined ). We don't see them very often in the summer, they tend to head back up to the mountains. But a few summers ago we had a young one that loved to play in the sprinkler, he would put his mouth over the top of it and drink, and the water pressure blew his lips around, like a dog with it's head out the car window, very amusing.

moose are hard on koi ponds also, Their hooves go right through the liner. Also if they decide they dont like you there isnt much you can do about it. A young bull chased me into a large slash pile 4 years ago while Elk hunting. He kept me there for about an hour backing off and charging the pile repeatadly.
I'm sure if anyone saw what was happening they are still laughing about it. Thanks for bringing back these memories with your pic.

Every once in a while we get a moose that wanders in to Colorado Springs. There are a lot of parks, trails and green belts and they just walk on down from the mountains.

It's usually a young male. When it finds out there are no young hot babe meeses and/or it gets tired of having its picture taken, it wanders back in to the mountains
