So, IS it a cherry tree?

OK, it's kind of a long story. We have some friends that do tree work and from time to time they bring the tree trimmings out here to dump. We cut up what we can use for firewood and burn what's left to use in my gardening. Anyway, yesterday they brought a load but I didn't see it until last night. DH put in a call to them this morning but they haven't called back. But I think it's a cherry tree. And I hope, if it is, that I can get some of the fresh cuttings to root.

So tell me - am I wasting my time?

Bradford Pear

Those fruit are what the Bradford do, that's it; the birds like them.

They are an ornamental globe style grower and are adored as Spring flowering trees.

Rooting those would be a good thing!

Aw nuts! I was SO excited to hopefully have some cherry tree cuttings basically fall in my lap. Oh well, I guess I can try the pear - they do make pretty flowers!

And as for the deadness of TEG, it was this way yesterday too... :/

its a bradford pear, a tree that i hate.

you will know cherry tree limbs... they smell like... cherries.
