Wow, my neighbor mentioned lasagna gardening to me, but was not going to try it. However, this strawbale gardening seems great!

I have a neighbor, who we get our goat hay from for nothing, has a LOT of bales that have been sitting out decaying for at least two years. How old is too old as I read that brand new is not good, you want some decay already. Obviously, these are not fit for animals to eat but might they grow a garden? I am not actually sure theya re still in bales though,. I will have to check.

Chickchic From the little bit I have learned those bales you mentioned should be great if you can manage to get that stuff in place where ya want it.
