I will likely miss it but I did enjoy seeing the moon, yesterday morning. Today, we start off in the rain and finish after 4pm in the rain ... in between, it will be "mostly cloudy" with a miserable amount of wind

.
During my Walk in the Park yesterday, I noticed a tree that the little sign said was as old as I am. (2034, you say?) Apparently, the tree is not an especially tall variety ... altho, it's grown considerably taller than me!
Hmmm, still looks kind of young.
These super moons are something of an illusion. Yeah, just a big chunk of wobbling rock. The light from any moon from near the Earth's horizon will be distorted. The moon will appear larger than it will seem further up in the sky. Its beams of reflected sunlight, bending.
Right now, the moon is 221,526 miles away from the center of Earth (according to Wikipedia). In any month, it will have one day when it is as close as 224,000 miles, approximately. So, it's 1% closer than usual.
And, I won't see it!

No, no - don't try to comfort me. I'm fine going into the depths of winter darkness with only a light bulb and a flashlight. My candle blew out! Sure. You are more than a match for me. I'm beaten down into the ruts of decay and all my efforts have come to naught ... all is darkness and despair.
