With my love at work I must cook for myself. :hit

Today i felt like something fancy.

Here is what I am eating as I type.

I used 4 eggs from my girls, 7 top turnip greens chopped, and Hibiscus leaf. With Garlic and pepper of course.

The flower was just to cheer me up!

I just learned that the Hibiscus was edible.
It is kind of sweet.

So the hibiscus flower is sweet to eat?! Are all species ok to eat?! I have 2 hibiscus plants, and one is a dwarf... I'd LOVE to eat them. A nice topping for a pie maybe?! :p

Not the flower but the leaf! I just used the flower for looks.
I did taste the flower and it was not like the leaf. :sick

Not all Hibiscus can be eaten. I would find out what Hibiscus you have and read up on it first.

I plan on having a lot of this type from cuttings by spring.
The leaf is also good in salads from what I have read. It sure does add nice color.

I guess I should wait until summer and when it blooms to show you images and try to figure it out, it sounds lovely!
