And does your cat have a name Marie? She has moved right in. She is a lucky cat. Male or female. She’ll be a good mouser.. I don’t know if you have them or not, but here this time of year mice always try to find a warm spot to camp out over winter.

He's feral, but I've named him Oliver

Oliver covered in straw. In his water proofed kennel.

He threatened me the other morning, because i dared too wake him up from one of his kennels. All my own fault  because I served his breakfast way too early for his liking. It was raining and he wanted to stay curled up in his blanket

By the way he has 3 kennels now, plus a favourite bottom of cardboard box that's his couch with bag of wood chips that he covers himself in.

He's a terror and i just love his grumpy little face.

I called to him yesterday whilst he was a few blocks up from me, he totally forgot himself and came running towards me. But then remembered, he was the top cat feral around here, so quickly ducked under a van. To put me in my place

He had been sleeping in his wooden kennel this past week, with his favourite winter fluffy blanket. It's getting chilly at nights now, so I'll be adding the other fluffy blanket in soon. I'll probably be told off for that to :idunno .it's a no win situation with Oliver. Nancy chases all cats but oddly enough not Oli

He'll sometimes trot into into my kitchen, when Nancy's in the other room and he doesn't like me shutting the kitchen door.
But if it snows badly this year I'll have to lock him in somehow.

I just hope he doesn't hurt Nancy. šŸ˜”

My cat is called Manxy. He adopted me from watching me and keeping me company out in my gardens. I started feeding him took him to the vet , got him tags , then after a year or so one day just disappeared.

I'm sorry šŸ˜ž. Maybe he had a few other homes. They often do that

How long ago did he wander off?

It’s been a few months now since Manxy was missing. I keep hoping he found a new home .
My old cat Timothy, had 2 other homes he would find food from, besides mine.
One home was a couple down this road. But they both passed away and another gentleman that that lived a road down from mine, the both homes fed him.

All became deceased. So Timmy moved in with us, my old dog enticed him indoors.
Cat's have a mind of their own.

It's possible Manxy will turn up again one day. I hope so, even just to give you peace of mind.

I RANT bc i am about to spay my two puppies. I am aSTONISHED to see posts online about waiting until a GSD is 6yo to fix.
Seems like six years old is past the window to protect them from uterine cancer. However, have you done any reading on delayed spay? It seems that spaying and neutering before the growth plates have closed messes up the endocrine system. This is apparently extra important in large breed dogs. When my rough collie was a puppy I did a bunch of reading on line and came to the conclusion that tubal ligation would be way preferable to complete ovariohysterectomy (sp?). But that kind of surgery (and the distance to find a vet who could do it) was prohibitively expensive. So instead I opted to keep her intact until she was fully mature and then have the regular full spay operation done.

Just something to consider. I don’t know if I still have any stuff bookmarked. But you can do a search for ā€œwhat is the best age to spay and neuter dogsā€.

ā¬†ļø I believe this was the procedure @Marie2020 had done on her Nancy, @Finnie .

This is very nearly how i think of beverages. Gosh, it began long ago with visits to the neighborhood grocery store and being able to buy a bottle of RC Cola. i may be unlike someone of sophistication like @Pulsegleaner :) (where has Pulsegleaner gotten himself to, anyway? He hasn't posted in weeks!) ... i might be easily pleased ... then again, with Garfield, Garfield seems to be very well pleased with convenience foods and has a conversational relationship with Squeak, the House Mouse!

I did wonder at the time if that was the same surgery. I know she needed to travel a long way because it wasn’t the common surgery that’s available everywhere. (And I wouldn’t know what’s common and available in England.)
