Here! Here! Funny that you posted this. I just took a picture out my kitchen window to demonstrate how absolutely ugly, and horrible my brown world is... I will post it when I have my beautiful, green world photo. Before and after- then you will all understand why I am so grumpy! Spring!

Lesa, are you getting what I've heard of, lake effect weather?

Yes indeed! If it hadn't been for my new birdfeeder, I think I would have lost my mind by now... Felt like spring would never get here this year.

Marshall, lake effect is the worst. It is impossible to predict! We should be through that stage by now- since it has to do with the temp of the lake. But, we had yet another dusting of snow over night... Soon, spring will be here soon.

Lesa, I think the best cure for you would be to move to the part of California somewhere near here. My lake effect has been a total moderating influence this year It's a basin. Look at it in the google map satellite image. This winter they kept the lake above something like 70% full and the last frost was an unheard of late February. Peas are sprouting, and I have my flat of beans outside during the day. I actually may plant a few beans with plastic over them, in the garden in a week or so.

Want me to check the local real estate listings? Some of the local off grid undeveloped properties have reasonable prices.
