To cage or stake tomato plants?

I have staked, caged, trellised, left to vine on the ground even...I like them all... this year I am going to try trellising most of my tomatoes...I got a good deal on trellis netting at Johnny's

I just bought galvanized wire fencing $54 for 100 ft. We're going to start snipping and bending tomorrow!

that is so cool you posted that.. guess what.. they were building a wire "cage" storage area at the church to house awana stuff for the kids and they used fencing around the outside .. so you can see inside but be able to put a lock on it.. just to deter people if you will... anyway.. they used 5 foot tall fencing .. and had like 20+ feet left over .. they gave it to me :ep :celebrate :weee :clap :rose so I will be "fencing" my tomatos.. I plan od snipping and bending too..

our poor fingers .. they have already been through so much havent they LOL

I have small triangular stakes, made out of metal, cannot remember where I ordered them from, but they are 5 foot tall, and you tie the tomato as it grows up the stake. I use nylon knee hi's, I have tried a lot of other stuff, but they don't cut into the plant at all, and this seems to be one of the easier ways we have found to do it. Even heavy plants don't topple them, and I wish I would have ordered 6 more. I am pretty sure they came in lots of 3's.

There are some good ideals here...question what are hog rings?
They're metal clips to hold fencing together. I don't have any pics of them, but DH used to come home from work with them in his pockets (was a fence foreman before we moved).

Almond trees are doing great.

All the trees haven't looked better since I finally got around to pruning them good earlier this year.
