I had a collection of vintage gnomes that belonged to a uncle. I had about 7 of them in shade garden by road. Someone stole the cement ones and left the one plastic one.

The loss is sad but it is funny that you should mention theft.

That's how I first came to grow Thessaloniki. Well, I didn't exactly steal it ... St Paul would have probably approved .

A local guy was selling tomatoes and identifying them at the farmers market. I have started tomato plants indoors for years and stopped a few minutes to look at his offerings. I left with 2 tomatoes. The next spring, I had Thessaloniki plants in my garden.
