I decided that I wanted to make some tomato paste, but I didn't feel like canning it once I was done with the cooking, so I spread it on the tray that came with my dehydrator and made myself some tomato leather. I just pulled it off once it wasn't sticky anymore, tore it into smallish pieces, and put it in a canning jar. Now I can just add some to soup (or whatever) and get that amazing homegrown tomato flavor whenever I want it.

Perfect! I do that with my tomato skins after canning. Crunch them up and they become powdered tomatoes- used as you are planning on using the leather. I have one flower on one of my tomato plants.... waiting, waiting.

I left the seeds in, but I also added a bunch of onion, garlic, and basil. Which is why I didn't feel like canning it, I would have had to use the pressure canner, since their's quite a bit of low acid stuff in there
