Welcome to TEG, @seedtrader-teg. I love trading and sharing seed varieties -- especially those that are rare and in need of preservation.

I like the looks of your Amur Tiger Tomato. I have a variety just labeled 'Amur'. Didn't plant them this year, though.

I hope you enjoy this site. It's a friendly group of gardeners who like to discuss all and any aspects of gardening and gardeners' lives.

Thanks. I may have more tomato seeds available from this years harvest in the fall. Maybe we could trade?

I like rounding up true to type edibles, and banking seeds to them.

I try to share seeds that won't fit in the seed bank jars, or grow out plants and fruit to share.

The more true to types out in the world, the better for food security.

Agreed. Everything I grow now is either heirloom or at least open-pollinated. Growing corn around here in south-est, central-est Wisconsin is tricky if purity is wanted, but I've started a few plants inside very early and started plants very late to avoid cross pollination with all the field corn grown around here. This year I didn't get 'it' together so I haven't any corn growing. Sigh!

I didn't get my corn, peppers or sunflowers in either. :(

I have 2 tiny pepper seedlings right now, and running out of time for them.

If they live, I'll try growing them inside with some baby herbs.

I have often dug pepper plants and overwintered them in my sun room. Pepper plants are perennials -- almost trees -- in their native habitat. I have over wintered several plants for three winters before DH redid our overhang and put the pepper plants into the shed where they froze.
