The clouds are gone-it is as cold out as I can ever remember. The total lunar eclipse is starting right now. I am going to wait a few, bundle up and take a look. I will go out every 20 minutes or so- complete at 12:12.

We just went outside and the shadow is taking a bite out of the moon. Don't know if we'll stay up for the whole thing. Once years ago we went out to some property we owned to watch a total eclipse of the moon. It was cold, we built a small campfire and watched the eclipse. It was so dark! Away from the fire I couldn't see my hand in front of my face.

It will be the fourth time for me to be out.

The moon may disappear here because there is a lot of moisture and it's freezing.

Have fun!

Crystal clear & bitter cold here, 1 degree... but fortunately no wind. Only a sliver of the moon left, should be total in about 15 minutes. We are fortunate to see this one, the last couple eclipses here were obscured by clouds.
