Journey, your little one is adorable- and so are your chickens! Greenthumb, I would love to have the recipe for olive bread. It sounds delicious...The dreary winter days really make me want to bake-which explains that 10 pounds I gain every winter!! Ah well, as soon as I start digging in the dirt, I'll lose it again! I dug a path to the coop- the chickens walk along in it, like a track. The snow is so high on the sides, they can't see over. Grrrr!!!!

Now their looking at a possiblity for more snowstorms to come through for March, i have a feeling winter is going to stick around a little longer. Theirs even a storm that might come through for tues. to wed.

I grew birdhouse gourds last year and heard that it was best to dry them in the garden. Once the snow had melted in Jan I grab a handful and headed back to the house. Thought I would bring some in everyday and clean them and remove the seeds... Started to snow right after that and haven't seen them since. Sorry little birdies.

How did they turn out? Does that actually make them harder? Do they weather well? I was just wondering....I harvested mine late fall and they seem to be pretty strong, but I heard your way is supposed to be better. I just have a hard time believing they won't rot!

Well, if you find yours and get them cleaned out and inside, you can while away some snowy days painting them, huh.

I am finally getting something that looks alive in my garden. The fence that you see is 3 ft. high.

I tapped some maple trees at the beginning of the week. The first pic is from this morning. The 2nd pic is the same location last year.
