To strike fear into the hearts of the youngest voters, those who will be voting in this next election. What better way to push through gun laws than to kill some college students, who vote with their emotions instead of their brains?

@Beekissed! I would have said that was hog-wash until I realized it was the voting-aged high-schoolers who passed the recent levy increase here. They were given extra credit for leaving school and voting during the day.

Yesterday obama showed up at UCC ... he was met by 4 supporters as well as hundreds of pistol packing persons as well as some of the relatives of the victims with signs that read... nobama and go home. he left after talking to some of the families of the victims.

Years ago in California, at a time when OPEN CARRY was legal, the California legislature was about to vote on a bill to outlaw Open Carry, a group of liberals inter the chamber carrying shotguns, rifles and pistols in holsters.
The bill was passed, though it was not expected to, and it became illegal to carry our gun in the open.
These people may well have been those he arranged to meet.

What does open carry mean? I get a vision of old cowboy movies , a belt with bullets and gun on each side.

Hi, You could carry a pistole in a holster any gun as long as it wasn't concealed.

Yup! Just like that. We have a few older gentlemen (at least a couple are retired police) who meet at the doughnut shop. Since the shop is "gun free", they sit at the outside tables at talk. Belt, holster, and pistol at their sides.
Funny, until this summer and seeing them, I didn't know Wisconsin was open carry. We've recently had a lot of hubbaloo about the recently passed concealed carry law. Of course, this is hunter country and lots of them carry rifles and shotguns in their trucks.

When obama was at UCC, there were several hundred protesters ... quite a few people had guns in holsters. One reporterette asked an older gentleman who had a handgun in his holster if his gun had bullets in it. His reply... " Yup " She asked why ? He replied " If the gun had no ammo in it, the gun is nothing more than an expensive club and no wacho would respect the fact that I will protect what is mine and yours". Reporterette was speechless ( you should have seen the look on her face). End of that interview

I remember seeing a TV news interview several years ago in south Alabama where the interviewer asked a young lady if her gun, which was on her hip in a holster, was loaded. She answered in a deep-south drawl "Now why in the world would anybody tote an empty gun? You must be a big city sissy." If I remember correctly the interview ended abruptly. I just love those pretty southern gals.
