Will this work? I have a whole big pile of neglected compost that has yet to compost, and was wondering could I use this in between rows to help control weeds? It's got wood shavings, kitchen scraps - which I can work around to aviod any rotten stuff being used - chicken poo, leaves, etc. I have some hay/straw mixed with bunny poo to mulch my plants, but theres not enough to use everywhere.

What do y'all think?

If you are not walking between rows, it might be ok. I tried to put "hot" chicken poop on weeds last year-thought it might burn them...didn't work. I am kind of afraid you might be fertilizing an area that you really don't want stuff to grow in....JMO. Maybe someone else has a better idea. Happy Gardening!

I'd rebuild the compost pile and mulch, between the rows, with hay or pinestraw. I just couldn't make myself use unfinished compost as mulch that wasn't used on the beds, themselves.
