Unusual Christmas Gift

LOL! Yes, sort of.
In VA, concealed means it's hidden in a pocket, a purse, under a jacket, in the glove box or under a seat, etc. "Open" just means that it's visible (loaded or unloaded). It's not unusual to see a small pistol in a holster on someone's belt. Oddly enough, if someone wears a holster on their belt all day long and happens to put on a jacket because the evening is getting cold - if any part of the jacket covers any part of the pistol, it is now 'concealed' and you'd better have a permit.
Most women around here who carry handguns have permits because they prefer it to be hidden... usually in a purse.

wow here in ny they want your 1st born
At our California High School, most of us boys had .22s as well as deer rifles, and / or shotguns in our cars and pick ups depending on hunting season . Most could be readily seen by any and all passers by. And, YES, I lived NEXT DOOR TO THE POLICE CHIEF and normally and usually / daily , there was a squad car or three parked in front of his and our house !!! We never had any issues of misbehavior or school violence. :) However, These days in Cal., as the so called "progressives " run amuck ... if one was to express a cross word to your child to correct their behavior, child services will threaten to take your child away and throw you in jail. :th :he

Hubs bought a gun for me a few months ago. Sadly I cannot pull back that thing on the top. I even put it between my knees and used both hands to pull it back, barely. Since its registered to him only, he'll be getting that thing with the rest of his belongings when I move out.
