Garden Master
Thought you all might find this of interest. I'm sure some of you already know about it, but I just came across it today and have been browsing through the database for my state, looking up info on wild, native plants. I see a lot of questions come across TEG that would be greatly benefitted by this resource.
USDA Plant Database
You can search by a plant's common name or scientific name. Or (what I found cool) by pulling up all plants known to your state. (Takes a minute to load...)
Want to make some elderberry jelly, but you are not sure what the plant looks like? Want to tap a sugar maple, but you're not sure if the maple in your yard is the right kind? You'll find in depth info on it here and usually many pics. Distribution by state, taxonomic classification, uses, growth requirements, etc, etc...all there.
It's raining cats and dogs here today. I've been having fun looking around!
