I ignored my garden since Friday morning after the great onion, sweet pea, broccoli, cauliflower harvest.

Late yesterday evening I found a red slicing tomato that was ready and few red cherry tomoatoes that are almost ready.

This morning I discovered a whole bunch of pickling cucumbers that should be ready to use this weekend. :weee

Why is it every year I spend all summer waiting to can and then as soon as I have to go back to school everything starts ripening?

Woohoo! Good for you! Don't forget- you can freeze those tomatoes, until you are ready to can them...I'm still waiting for a slicer!

Yeah, you wait and you wait and you wait... then the garden attacks you with it all at once to say 'HA! You want it, well you got it!"

I always forget about the freezing possibility. Thanks for the reminder!

It is a real time saver too- those skins slip off like magic- no blanching. Gotta love it! Enjoy!
