Athena melons actually ;) This is the first time I have grown cantaloupes in a few years. Last time, I had horrible luck. Things are definitely looking up.

They look great, I debated alot on trying to do melons this year but wasn't sure I could grow them. I tried so many new things that I was a little overwhelmed. I think I will give it a try next time.
Glad they worked out for you this time! You must be feeling good!

They are gorgeous! Mine are just a smidge beyond seedling status...I hope they grow as nicely as yours have :) Any tips for a first time melon grower?

I got an early start on them in the greenhouse. This year I put a weed proof barrier under them which works great! We have had a good growing season so far. I've only had to water about 4 times.

Yes, Nubsmum, they're real. Still not as big as I want them, though.

I think the cultivation guide for melons says to pick them when they are between a "D" and "DD".:hu

Though I did start some this year that are supposed to be about 50 lbs when ripe. Have to wait and see what happens to those. I can't remember the name but they are a type of musk melon.:coolsun
