Thanksgiving my stove caught on fire and the fire dept came. I posted a photo of stove thistle pointed out there was a champagne cork behind the stove, maybe thats what started the fire

My mama always canned them in slices, as is, boiling water bath with a tsp of salt, water to cover the maters. Later, she would drain that juice, roll them in flour and cornmeal just like you do any other time you make fried green tomatoes and fry them up. Less fry time, actually, due to them already being tenderly cooked in the canning process.
