I am trying to use my city water less and less since it costs me $. I mentioned on my thread that I empty the dehumidifier in the garage and put it to good use. If it's too far I can pour it into a plastic bucket and transport it on my riding mower to wherever.
I also am trying to leave my turnable composter by the house OPEN when we have rain. I am still trying to figure out how to make compost more quickly. I have been putting kitchen waste in it for about a year now. There is a lot of soil being Created--I haven't emptied it Yet--but I am always needing to add more brown and add water to it, so I try to watch the weather and leave the two cells Open when we get rain, so It gets enough water.
Jury is still out on how effective this composter IS, but it remains a great place to dump coffee grounds with the paper filter, egg shells, potato skins, and anything else that is kitchen/meal based vegetative.
It Smells like good soil...
