Weather Where You Are

We had a man made fire two days ago, just east of Ashland OR, on Dead Indian Road. Went to 350 acres before it was fully lined. Filled our air with smoke and this morning the sun, which I can almost look at, is very orange. It was started in two spots on that road. Its the second time this year that the fire bug did this there.

The fire near Fresno that trapped all those ppl last nite (some injured some very critical) is now at 36,000 acres and it only started late yesterday. I tell ya...I'm sick of this crap for sure.

If there's the slightest chance this fire could get near you and your loved ones please get out.

We went away to our cabin this weekend to get away from the heat and smoke. It was better up in the mountains. It was hot but at least 10 degrees cooler than had we stayed in the bay area. Air conditions were moderate. But we could still see ashes on our car.

Looks like our temperatures will drop this week. My husband and I both have family in Fresno and they say the air is very bad there.

My husband thought it was Denver that was going from 101f to 37 with snow within 2 days! That is so extreme.

... The Pacific Northwest fires aren't close but high winds are predicted for tomorrow
And, they arrived, continuing right through the day.

Nearby wildfires were driven by gusts above 45 mph (73 kph). Fires were downwind of my home so there wasn't much smoke here, thankfully. About 50 miles away, fire blew into a small town (population of 2-300) burning over 70% of the homes and businesses.

This morning, it's quiet here with the lightest of breezes from the east. It's chilly and looks like our official low will be 41°f (5°c). That will be the coldest temperature since mid-May.

I'm relieved too find you in here, it must be an immense worry with these fires
How is @baymule

Another question is,

How is @thistlebloom ?

I have just learned that her location had the worst of that region's wind. And, there is a fire on the mountain not very far to the east. A very big lake in between, as I understand it.
