Hi all.. We've seen a fair amount of this weed this year -- I've lived in the area for decades and never seen this one before.. If you try to pull it with your bare hands, it's got hairy needed on the stems that cause you to itch after you get poked.. The roots are long & straight.. Any ideas?

Stinging Nettle? Does just brushing against a leaf make your hand itch? I had it show up in a flower bed about three years ago, never had seen it there before. All of a sudden it was everywhere. If that's what yours is, it looks greener than mine. Supposed to be a great herb, dried and in tea.

I've not noticed the stinging issue unless I grab the stems but I did notice the leaves seem to have itty bitty hairs on them.. They look like they might be related to the stinging nettle..
