No I don't think you are picky. When you work hard on a project like you are doing, you never want to look back and say I wish I would have cut those door frames down. And you are already thinking about it cause you are asking. Cut them down now and sleep better a night later LOL.brounii said:

What size pvc pipe are you using?
I did the X fittings when the tunnel had 2 layers of plastic film. But, I didn't continue with that. Yours looks to be of considerably better design compared to my simple structure.
Here is a thought: I can't tell how well you have attached your door frames but the plastic film will put considerable stress on those end walls. Just pulling the plastic tight is part of it but wind . . . ah, the wind!
My tunnel breathes! And, it is located in a very protected part of my yard. Wind gusts above, say, 25mph, creates a little bit of a rolling motion to the entire structure! It has never left the yard! For one thing, I have 4 stakes at the corners and rope over the top of it. However, the movement of the plastic pulls the end walls, inward.
It has only collapsed twice - in about 15 years - and that was because of heavy March snow.
I dug post holes beside the door frame this year and sunk a couple of 2x4's to hold it better. That won't last but the little structure is only covered for about 3 months each year. After that, it is magically transformed into 2 garden beds

That is a nice project! What are you growing? Did I miss that part? I know you listed a bunch of veggies, but just wondered what you'd started with, or if it was all listed.
